Ciao!

Majutus:

Ja selline oligi me seekorde reisike Veneetsias!
Järgmine kord kohtumume juba Padovas!
Cheers!

Ciao!
I am so happy that I can take you back to Italy, because it was my first real abroad county where I finally understood that I want to travel more, more and more! So as I promised in the last post, then here is the Venice with all it's beauty and tears!

Destination:
Venice, Italy

Duration of trip:
2 days, which in one day we spend in Mestre.

Traveling to destination:
By train from Usti to Prague and by plane from Prague to Venice Treviso airport.
By bus from airport to Mestre.
By tram from Mestre to Venice.
*Plus: The plane tickets were quite cheap, around 100€ go and back per person. The flight was around 1,5 hour, which is way shorter than Estonia-Italy flight. The tram from Venice to Mestre was very nice and the one way ticket (which in the end is much cheaper than the day ticket) costs 1,50€, they are selling the tickets in newspaper kiosks and the machines which are in tram stations.
*Minus: Our flight company was Wizzair, if you are using this company, then for sure check out your free cabin baggage size, because this company accept the smaller bags than usually others do, in Prague the staff controlled all the cabin bags very carefully! In Treviso airport we took an airport express bus (ATVO company) which ticket was very expensive, one way was 12€- hello cheap flight companies who are landing in small and middle-of-nowhere airports! Anyway I am pretty sure that there is some cheaper way how to go from airport to Mestre or Venice.

About local life:
*In Venice I had an tourist trap incident. I was looking a stamp for the postcard, which I wanted to send to home, but instead of normal stamp the lady from the usual kiosk sold me some kind of GPS private stamp (this stamp should let to send some kind of voice mail also), so while I was reading from the stamp that I need a special mailbox to send it, I asked from another place about it and I got the answer that this is a private stamp. This stamp costed 2,50€, which is actually very expensive, the normal stamp to Europe costs 1€, so for sure check the prices! I am not sure are these private stamps are even real, because some websites says that they are not!
*It's pretty known that the gondel ride is very expensive (100+€), but I heard from someone, probably it was the administrator of our hostel, that if you ask the price from gondel's ummmm driver? before the ride, then it is possible to get the half of hour even with 10-20€. Unfortunately we didn't tried it by ourselves, but why not to ask in next time!

Accommodation:
Although I was searching for the accommodation a couple moths before (which is obviously too little time for such a place), then accommodation was still one of the most expensive part of this trip. To get it as cheap as possible we decided to took the hostel in Mestre,  it is a nice quiet place which is not far from Venice and has a very good connection with it, also there is a train station. Our hostel was Venice Bangla B&B, which was in city center of Mestre, but as it's enter was in the courtyard then it took a bit time to find the right way. The hostel had a nice rooms with TV and free wifi. The administrators were also very friendly, although some of them couldn't speak good English. Two nights in there costed 37€ per person, which is not the cheapest one, but well these are the tears of Venice. Also in booking.com it was written that they will take the money off trough the bank, but in real life we paid while we arrived there.

Sightseers:
For me Venice is a city where by walking and without map you will see everything, I just love walking there and explore those tiny streets where you never know will it end with the water or not. Thanks to this and our major laziness we didn't take any free tours which is a bit sad, because I basically  don't know nothing about the history or fun facts. But we still saw the famous St Mark's Square with it's St Mark's Cathedral , we walked over the Rialto bridge and tried to see the Ponte del Sospiri, by fighting with other tourist to get the room and also we watched the gondels, too!

Place to eat:
If one big part of money went to the accommodation, then the other part went to the food! Although we ate in one Mestre pizzeria then we still preferred the food from the store, because it was cheaper. Also the local food places have their owe strategy, where the food price is so-so okay, but the drinks are expensive, for example in most of the places the cheapest drinks were 3€ (even water). So after long searching in Venice we were almost giving up with the Mestre food store until we found the place called Al Bacco Felice, where to prices were quite okay (still not the best ones) and where the costumers had a chance to leave the notes to the wall. I ordered to my-self one of my favourite pizza Margherita, which was also one of the cheapest ones.

Free time:
As we were there only in one day, then mostly we were just walking around and buying the souvenirs. But I believe that there is also some nice museums or galleries, for example we visited so randomly the opening of Katja Novivitskona and Kati Ilves project "If Only You Could See What I Have Seen With Your Eyes" in Estonian Pavilion! It was so funny to heard the Estonian language from so many people. But for me Venice is more the city where is just good to walk and discover all those lovely bridges and houses!

And this was the lovely day in Venice!
See you next time already in Padova!
Cheers!
