Umbes aasta tagasi, mil ma Berliini külastasin, et osanud ma oodata, et ma sinna nii ruttu tagasi lähen, aga ometigi sai minu esimeseks väljaspool Tšehhit olevaks sihtkohaks Berliin. Seega, vaatame selle linnakese siis uuesti üle!
Have fun!

Asukoht:
Berliin, Saksamaa

Reisi kestvus:
3 päeva

Sihtkohta reisimine:
*Euroline bussiga Usti nad Labemist Berliini.

*Enamus muuseumid on esmaspäeviti suletud.

Majutus:
Ööbisime Charlottenburgi rongipeatuse lähedal (rongiga sõites u 20 minuti kaugesel kesklinnast), hostelis nimega Happy Go Lucky.

Cheers!

A year ago, when I visited Berlin in the first time, I didn't expect that after a year I will visit this place again, but here I am!
So let's see what is new for me in this city!
Have fun!

Location:
Berlin, Germany

Duration of trip:
3 days

Travelling to destination:
*By Euroline bus from Usti nad Labem to Berlin.
*Plus: The bus ride was around 3 hours and comparing with the train tickets it was twice cheaper (go and back way was 30€- we bought the tickets a day before going). As we went to Berlin with 10 people, then we got some discount (the most cheaper way was when 5 people bought tickets together).
*Minus: As we bought the tickets a day before leaving, we missed the chance to go with the morning bus, because it was already full, I also suspect that we paid a bit more thanks to the last minute call. While we bought the tickets, we could't pay separately and the office also didn't accept credit card.

About local life:
*The weather in winter is quite cold (like in Estonia).
*In eating places there is a tipping system.
*A day ticket of AB transport tickets (works all around the city) costs to one person 7€, buying a ticket to five people, it costs in total 20€ which means 4€ per person.
*Public transport (at least the trains) works 24/7.
*Most of the museums are closed on Mondays.

Accommodation:
We stayed in hostel called Happy go Lucky, which was near of Charlottensburg train station (the hostel is around 20 minutes by train from city center). We were in 2 rooms, in one room there were 4 beds, in other 6 beds. Both of the rooms were nice, the house was super big, I guess there was A, B and C corpus and it was quite old house with high ceilings, but everything was quite nice. We paid for 2 nights 25€ per person, but I guess we got some discount (probably the booking page had some kind of sale). There was also possible to buy a breakfast for 6€ to grown-ups and for 3€? to children, we decided to not buy it. Also in check-in it came out that the hostel takes 50€ deposit for the room key (we had one key per room), money is given back while there is still a key until the check-out.

Sightseers:
As the others were in the first time in Berlin and we had quite few time, then also at this time we decided to take a New Berlin tour, which I really liked (read more from HERE). The guide was very chill and in the "Free City Tour" there is a system that in the end of the tour you pay to the guide as much as you want. Also this company has a lot of other tours, too! For me the new places were East Side Gallery (a part of the Berlin Wall, where a lot of artists have left their mark), I was so happy to see this place. We also visited a History Museum, which would like to every museum fan, the ticket for stutent costs 4€ and it is also opened on Mondays. I also saw for the first time the Berlin Cathedral and we wanted to visit the house, where is a nice view to Berlin, but in the winter time this place is opened only until 6 pm, but there is also a chance to go to TV Tower (ticket 12€), but the tour guide said we should visit the other house, which ticket costs 4€ (a keyword: panorama).

Place to eat:
At this time we tried food from different countries. We ate a traditional German food in the place called Augustiner am Gendarmenmarkt, where they mostly serves sausages and sauerkraut. On Saturday we ate in Italian restauraunt called Portofino Ristorante-Pizzeria, which was near of our sleeping place, I don't know, was it an accident or they made it on purpose, but we got a check where they asked 12€ more than it really was, ofc we payed only for our food. But I must say, that I really liked the food in that place, one of the best pasta, what I ever have eaten! On Sunday we ate for the lunch a famous Mustafa döner, the place is in the East-Berlin and the queue to get a döner is legendary long.

Free time:
And finally I visited the night club in Berlin, which was so cool! We visited the place called Matrix, which is in East-Berlin, near of the train station. For me it was a very big club, where were at least 4 big rooms and 2 different music places (like in the same house had different DJ-s). And the music, it was just sooooo good, I really don't remember when I heard so good DJ before. The entrance costed 8€, but we got the coupons from the hostel (and I have seen them also in the other places) which made the entrance 50% cheaper, the wardrobe was for free (but the queue was quite long) and the alcohol was also with good price, for example, some shots costed 2€. So if you have a change, then for sure vist the East-Berlin clubs and pubs!

And that's it!
If you have any questions about Berlin, then let me know!
Cheers!
