Next Stop: Romania (The Mountains)

It's time to talk about of my favourite part of this trip, which are the mountains! I am just so thankful that I had a chance to see so beautiful places and the real home of uncle Dracula's! But first, fasten your seat belts, because the road will be crazy!
Let the fun begin!

Location:
Onesti, Tragul Onca, Slanic Moldova, Brasov- Romania

Duration of trip:
2 days

Travelling to destination:
We went by car.
*Plus: The views and houses are just so pretty!
*Minus: The distance between of places are quite long and the road is a bit dangerous as the mountains roads usually are.

About local life:
*If in the other cities the temperature were hot even in the night time, then in the mountains the nights were much colder.

Accommodation:
At this time we staied at my friend friends' places in Onesti and Tecuci, thank you so much for hosting us! I saw a couple of hotels in Slanic Moldova, but unfortunately I dont have any information of them.

Sightseers:
Actually the first plan of our journey was to visit the salt mine in Targul Ocna and before that check out the Mausoleum of Marasesti, which has made to honor the solders of the First World War. For me this place was a bit sad and scary, because I wan't prepared my-self for this, it's  good to know a bit local history before to visit this place. As the salt mine closed at 4 pm and we were half an hour late to catch the last bus to mine, then we decided to go to Slanic Moldova, where for the first time I saw the beauty of Romanian mountains and where the houses reminded me Austria. In there the others got an crazy idea to stay somewhere close for the night and visit the salt mine and in the next the day, as we already were so far, then the uncle Dracula's castle, too. In spite of facts that everyone had only their phone and purse, my camera battery was almost empty, we didn't know where to stay for a night and we were travelling with a 5-year-old-boy, we decided to accept the challenge. After a dinner we find an accommodation in my friend friend's place in Onesti and in the next morning at 7 am we started our road back to salt mine. As I told we only had a summer clothes, which was a big mistake, because in the salt mine the temperature was 12 degrees. But the cold air and the 20 leus (around 5 euros) ticket (for students) were totally worth it, because the view was amazing! Some people are there for the whole day because of the treatment (the air in there is different and it is good for respiratory tract), so for that there were a lot of entertainments started from basketball and finished with tables where to eat. Also it is still an active place to mine the salt, so one of the workers gave us some salt crystals, what a lovely present! In my opinion the salt mine town was also lovely, but unfortunately we didn't made more stops in there because the uncle Dracula's castle in Brasov was waiting! As form salt mine the road to there is 3-4 hours long, then I am still very happy that we made it, because in my opinion the Dracula's Castle is one of the most important sightseers in Romania! The castle is famous thanks to the Dracula's character, who became alive thanks to a man who was living in this castle and who used extremely bloody punishments. But it is also a castle where even in the last century the royal family of Romania lived. Unfortunately I have disgracefully few photos of this amazing castle, but at least I finally found a post card which I sent to Estonia! The ticket for students costs around 20 leus, keep your student card close and be careful on the steep road which leads to castle, it is quite slippy!

Place to eat:
In the first evening we even had a dinner in two places. The first one was in the Slanic Moldova restaurant, where the main meal was the local trout (in Romanian- pastrav) in different ways, we took the grilled one. The second dinner and also the next day dinner was in the place called Hanul Marisano, which is in Onesti. It's a big place with local music and nice menu. In the first evening we took a big pizza and I tried the pancakes, in the next evening we ordered a soup, which I wasn't able to eat because of local product called "borš" (no, it is not that good Russian soup, which is also very common in Estonia, it was some kind of weird sour liquid). In Brasov we bought a local gigant sweet bread, which I liked a lot!

Free time:
Those two days were quite intensive, but we still had some "free time". For example besides of pretty houses in Slanic Moldavia there's also a famous area, where's over 10 spring water places, each of them are special and good in their own way. There's also a nice walking road where's nice to enjoy the magic water. For shopaholics there's a quite big market in Brasov, which is exactly before the Dracula's castle. It's a good place to buy some souvenirs or soft scarves (well, those scarves are already in Estonian markets, too). But mostly the mountains are just quite and peaceful places, where to load the batteries.

And those were my two wonderful days in Romanian mountains, before the end of the trip I'd like to show you a nice afternoon in Romanian country side, but first enjoy the photos!
Cheers!

On aeg asuda minu lemmik osa juurde, milleks on mäed!
 Let the fun begin!

Asukoht:
Onesti, Tragul Onca, Slanic Moldova, Brasov- Rumeenia

Reisi kestvus:
2 päeva

Sihtkohta reisimine:

Majutus:

Kahjuks on mul sellest imelisest kohast häbiväärselt vähe pilte, kuid tollel päeval leidsin sealt lõpuks postkaardi, mida Eestisse saata! Pilet lossi on õpilastele minu mäletamist mööda 20 leud, hoidke õpilaspiletid lähedal ning olge ettevaatlikud järsul teel, mis lossini viib, see tundus olevat juba eriti siledaks käidud!

Söögikohad:
Esimesel õhtul kinnitasime keha lausa kahes kohas.

Vaba aeg:
Kogu selle trallitamise peale leidus meil isegi hetki nö vaba aja jaoks. Näiteks on Slanic Moldivas peale ilusate majade ka tuntud allikate koht, kus on lausa üle 10-ne allika, millest igaüks on oma erilisel moel hea, nende vahele on ehitatud väga mõnus jalgrada, mida on võluvee kõrvale mõnus nautida. Paadunud shopahoolikud saavad oma ihasid kergendada Brasovis, kus just täpselt enne Dracula lossi väravaid on üles löödud uhke turg.

Ja sellised olidki minu kaks imelist päeva mägedest, enne kodu on jäänud vaid üks mõnus lõunapoolik ühes armas maamajakeses, kuid esmalt pilte nautima!
Cheers!
