Next Stop: Aegna

As summer is the best time to travel around in Estonia then why not to make a travel post about it? So, today's destination is a small island in North-Estonia called Aegna! Actually the idea to go to that island came already in last summer and finally after long planning I found myself of breathing an island air at least for a couple of hours. And of course I'd like to share that trip with you! Also I made a small video which is in HERE!
Have fun!

Location:
Aegna, North-Estonia.

Duration of trip:
5 hours (3 hours on island).

Travelling to destination:
By small ship from Tallinn and also the same way back.
*Plus: There's a chance to buy tickets from internet (for adult the both way ticket is 6€), but for a Tallinn people there's also a chance to get it for free in the live queue which is 30 minutes before ship departure time. On the weekends the ship goes and comes back 3 times per day. Even if the homepage says that they accept only printed ticket, then actually it is totally okay to show it from phone, too!
*Minus: It is quite risky to but tickets without booking, because there may be much more people  than available seats, so staying to the island for a night is not the best option I guess. Even the pre booking may be full. From Monday to Thursday the ships goes and comes back twice per day, on Tuesdays there's no connection with the island. With windy weather the ship moving is pretty big, feels like an amusement park. There's different time plan according to season.

About local life:
*There's no shops.
*There's a lot of empty houses.
*With normal walk it is possible to discover the whole island with 3-4 hours.
*There's no roads of asphalt.
*The biggest transportation which is possible to take by boat to the island is bicycle, so it is pretty rare to see some bigger transportation than that.
*There's nice walking roads with signposts.
*While coming off from boat the workers gives free maps of island.

Accommodation:
As I was there only 3 hours then I didn't had any accommodation and I can't comment so much about it. But I know that there's a chance to stay at the houses or just camp in the tent.

Sightseers:
There's a lot of sightseers which are connected with history, so I warmly recommend to take some guide or a person who know about it. Sadly we didn't had that change, but I believe that it make's the trip much more interesting. My favourite places were more connected with nature, I liked the place where were 23 big rocks and a labyrinth of stones.

Place where to eat:
The only food place what I saw was the harbor cafe. This place was selling mostly snacks, also there were some souvenirs. Interent said that it is possible to pay also with a card. I guess this place is opened only in summer period.

Free time:
In my opinion discovering this island is a big free time of it-self. But beside of walking and seeing sightseers the best ways how to fill it are swimming, sun bathing, camping and making a picnic-  after all this island is a quiet place, where to just rest, enjoy the nature and have a good time with a good people!

PS! I afraid that the first one is only in Estonian.

Kuna suvi on ideaalne aeg ka Eestis reisimiseks, siis miks mitte teha üks reisimise postitus hoopis sihtkohast, mis asub meie omal kodumaal? Seega seekordeks sihtkohaks on.... AEGNA!!!
Have fun!

Asukoht:
Aegna

Reisi kestvus:
5 tundi (3 tundi saarel).

Sihtkohta resimine:
Laevaga marsruudil Tallinn-Aegna ning pärast samamoodi tagasi.
*Pluss: Elavas järjekorras (30 minutit enne laeva väljumist) on laevapilet Tallinna elanikele tasuta, võimalik on internetis eelbroneerimine, kuid sel juhul tuleb piletite eest maksta (nt täiskasvanu pilet edasi-tagasi on 6€).
Veidi tuulisema ilma korral on loksumine päris võimas. Talviti on sõiduplaan kindlasti teistsugune.

Kohalik eripära:
*Saarel puudub pood.
*Palju on tühje maju.
*Saare jõuab mõõdukas tempos 3-4 tunniga kenasti läbi käia.
*Puuduvad asfalteed.
*Suurim transpordivahend mida saab laevaga saarele viia on jalgratas, seega on leidub saarel ka väga vähe sellest suuremat transporti.
*Saarel on kenasti hooldatud jalgrajad koos viidetaga.
*Saarele tulles jagatakse kaarte koos tähistega.

Majutus:

Vaba aeg:
Minu meelest on kogu saare avastamine ise üks suur vaba aeg. Kuid kui saarel jalutamine ja vaatamisväärsustega tutvumine kõrvale jätta, siis parimateks vaba aja tegevusteks võib vast pidada rannas mõnulemist, ujumist, päevitamist, telkimist ning pikniku pidamist- tegemist on siiski ju vaikse kohaga, kus aeg lihtsalt maha võtta ning nautida ilusat loodust koos heade inimestega!
